Social & Research.

Over the years, I've accumulated extensive experience conducting informal sessions, including a notable achievement in creating an album with a group of Roma teenage girls from a settlement. Drawing inspiration from the Ubiktúra community songwriting sessions, I developed a methodology and produced a PDF publication for musicians interested in adopting a similar approach. Additionally, I've run several digital composition sessions called vocal games, where we explore digital sounds, turning everyday human voices and sounds into music.

Puszafalat (2021-2022) - Singing Recipe Book

Zea Gyarmati, Anna Makay: research, interviews, concept

Puszafalat contains stories, recipes and songs from the Hegyköz and the Bodrogköz region. The sources of the collection are the elders of small towns and even smaller villages, the kindly inhabitants with open hearts and mouths. The book is neither a recipe book nor a songbook, but a way of keeping alive the memories of the people of a region.

Vocal games

The basis of our digital music-making sessions is experimenting with non-digital everyday sounds and rhythms, like singing, humming, cooing, whistling, clapping, and imitating sounds (animals, objects…etc). Just playing. Then the computer and the microphone appear and it turns out that all the fun will become music.

UbikTúra (2018- )

Our goal is to be the meeting point of Hegyköz and Budapest culture, and to dispel the misconception that only folk dancers can have fun in the dance hall.

We organize camps for adult with musical and art workshops, hikes in Zemplén, educational programs, and folk dance houses at night. Every year we create a song together with musicians and the campers.
