Ma’iwa
Ma’iwa, a collaboration between Hungarian electronic musicians MA’AM and AIWA, started in 2019 and was recognized by Shape Platform in 2020. Their new album, ‘KIME’, features tracks from an improvisation session combining folk-like singing with rhythmic drones and ambient sounds. It represents a conceptual exploration of spoken word, dream noise, and various electronic genres. MA’AM (Anna Makay) is a Budapest-based vocalist and composer focusing on ancient languages in digital contexts through vocal improvisation and experimental sound. Lajos Nadhazi (AIWA), also from Budapest, creates genre-bending electronic improvisations with hazy melodies and overdriven drum machines.
